OUR STORY
Sons of the Shepherd is a faith-based nonprofit ministry dedicated to supporting younger widowers and all men through compassionate mentorship, community events, and valuable resources for grief and spiritual restoration. Our mission is to provide a safe space for men to find healing, support, and spiritual growth. We strive to create a community where men can share their experiences, support one another, and find hope in their journey of grief and restoration.
Through our various programs and events, we aim to provide a network of support and understanding for men who have experienced the loss of a spouse. Our team is committed to walking alongside these men, offering guidance, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. We believe that every man deserves the opportunity to heal and thrive, and we are here to provide the necessary support and resources for their journey.

MEET MATTHEW ROBINSON
Sons of the Shepherd was born out of personal loss and a burden for men grieving in silence.
After losing my wife, Tiffanie, to a rare stage four cancer, I entered widowhood unexpectedly. In that season, I discovered a painful gap, while many resources exist for widows, very few are designed for men walking through the same loss.
That realization became the foundation of this ministry.
The name comes from Psalm 23.
Jesus is the Good Shepherd who leads us through both green pastures and the valley of the shadow of death. He does not abandon His people in suffering, He stays close to the brokenhearted.
“Sons of the Shepherd” reflects our identity:
Men who belong to the Shepherd and are never walking alone.

GRIEF IS NOT A PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Sons of the Shepherd is not a grief recovery program. It is not a checklist or a curriculum you complete and graduate from. We do not believe the goal is to "move on." We believe the goal is to press forward, to carry your grief with you honestly, to let it teach you something true about love and loss and the faithfulness of God, and to refuse to let it be the final word about who you are.
What we provide are relationships and tools, real human presence, honest conversation, and Gospel-rooted resources, because no methodology replaces a brother who shows up and stays. The goal isn't resolution. The goal is companionship on the road.
